The Graphite

Graphite is a stable mineral, probably the most stable form of carbon in nature with some particular characteristics:
- One of the twelve oldest elements in the solar system.
- Mineral present in meteorites
- It has the highest melting temperature among natural elements, 3500 degrees.
- Oily to the touch
- Its mechanical forces increase as the temperature increases,
- very resistant to cold and heat and to most chemical substances.
- Excellent conductor
- High resistance to thermal shock
What is graphite composed of?
Graphite is made of 100% hexagonal carbon. Tubular crystals of parallel layers of carbon atoms formed by lamellar sheets of graphene placed one on top of the other
How graphite is formed
Graphite is formed from the transformation over time of carbon-based biological residues into minerals (graphitization process, high pressures, very high temperatures). This is the same type of process that leads to the production of diamonds.
Graphite – Uses and future
Graphite is widely used in electrical engineering, metallurgy, aerospace industry, chemical industry and in lubricants. Used for small transistors, possible replacement for silicon and battery component.
T.Silk satin fabric meet the g_powder technology patent
The special T.Silk silk satin fabric by Cosetex is capable of enhancing the softness and smoothly typical of a natural microfibre such as silk and is dyed with the g_pwdr® Technology treatment by applying recycled natural graphite powder. This patented process by Alisea allows us to recover, with a natural process capable of giving value to the satin. High quantities of dust, otherwise destined for landfill, offer a dyeing method that is at the same time innovative and responsible.
The result is surprising. G_Silk the silk and graphite fabric maintains the exceptional properties of silk unaltered by combining them with the excellent characteristics of graphite:
